Roulette is a popular table game of chance that is played using a Roulette Wheel consisting of 37 numbers (0, 1-36) and a wager table or grid. After the wager has been placed, the wheel spins and a ball is dropped onto the outer edge. The object of this game is to predict where there ball will land when the Roulette Wheel has completed the spin, with a winning payout that is determined by wager type placed. Roulette offers a wide variety of betting options that pay out according to the odds of each possible result.

The table, or wagering grid, for Roulette features the numbers 1-36 arranged in groups of 12 to form 3 columns, with the 0 placed at the top of the grid. Wagers placed on specific numbers or combinations of numbers within the grid are called "Inside Bets" and pay out based on the probability of each. "Outside Bets" are those placed on the edge, or outside the numbered area on the table and include more likely odds that pay out accordingly.

The following are the possible wager types and odds of each in the game of Roulette:

INSIDE BETS:

Straight Bet : A straight bet is when only a single number is chosen, and pays out the highest odds in Roulettte (35-1). The straight bet is made by placing a chip directly over the desired number on the wager table. (this includes wagers on the 0)

Split Bet : By placing your wager on the line between any 2 numbers, both numbers are wagered and the pay out is 17:1 if the ball lands on either number wagered following the wheel spin.

Street Bet : Also called 'three number bet', the player is able to wager 3 numbers by placing the chip in the outside line of the 3 number row selected. If any of the three numbers covered by the wager comes up on the wheel spin, the pay out is 11:1 .

Corner Bet : Four numbers are chosen and wagered when a chip is placed where the lines of all four numbers intersect. A successful corner bet pays out 8:1.

Five Bet : It is possible to place a wager on 5 numbers, but only when playing the American version of Roulette that includes both the 0 and 00 on the wager table. The numbers 0, 00, 1, 2, & 3 are wagered by placing a chip on the boundary line, where the line between 0 and the first row meet. When playing Roulette where the five number bet is available, the pay out is 6:1.

Six Line Bet : Six numbers are wagered by selecting two adjacent rows of 3 numbers each and placing a chip on the line between the two, at the bottom of the row. Six Line Bets pay odds of 6 to 1.

OUTSIDE BETS:

Color Bets : The player chooses to wager that the ball will land on either a Red or Black colored number. This is considered an "even money" wager, and is made by placing the chip on the red or black wager area provided. Red/Black wagers pay 1:1.

Odd/Even Bets : Made by placing the wager either on any odd or any even number to come up on the wheel spin. The pay out for an odd/even wager is 1:1.

High/Low Bets : The player may choose to wager on all the low numbers (1-18), or all the high numbers (19-36) Pay out is 1:1.

Dozen Bet : 12 numbers are wagered at once by placing a chip on 1st 12 (1-12), 2nd 12 (13-24) or 3rd 12 (25-36). The Dozen bet pays odds at 2:1.

Column Bet : All 12 numbers in a given column are wagered when the chip is placed on any one of the three vertical columns on the Roulette table. Column bets pay out odds of 2:1.
